Understanding the Problem
Not every business uses Gmail or Outlook. Companies running Zimbra, Yandex Mail, Zoho Mail, ProtonMail Bridge, or self-hosted email servers need CRM integration that works with their existing infrastructure. TeknoVesta supports IMAP for receiving and SMTP for sending, making it compatible with virtually any email provider that offers standard protocols. Setup is per-user with secure credential storage; data sync, AI replies, and lead capture work identically to OAuth-based integrations.

How It Works
Enter Email Provider Details
Provide IMAP server, port, and security (SSL/TLS) for incoming. Provide SMTP server, port, and security for outgoing. Most providers have public documentation for these.
Enter Credentials
Username and password (or app-specific password if your provider requires it for third-party clients).

Is this less secure than OAuth?
OAuth is more secure because it does not require sharing passwords. However, IMAP/SMTP with app-specific passwords and TLS encryption is secure for most use cases. For maximum security, use OAuth (Gmail or Outlook) when your provider supports it.
What if my provider requires app-specific passwords?
Many providers (Fastmail, ProtonMail Bridge, some Yandex setups) require app-specific passwords for third-party clients. Generate one in your provider's settings and use it in TeknoVesta instead of your main password.
Can I use this with multiple email accounts?
Yes. Each user can connect multiple email accounts, useful for sales reps managing personal and shared inboxes. Each account syncs independently with separate settings.
